Having a pet is a lot of fun, but can also be a lot of hard work and sometimes a bit of trouble.  In decodable book 14, The Hen and the Pen,  follow a mischievous hen that steals Pam's only pen and the ten men that try to help her get it back.  Will the men get the pet hen and pen for Pam?   Students develop comprehension of five new sight words in addition to the reviewed words from the previous books.  Focus word families /en/ /et/ and CVC words.
